Spreading Valentine Cheer!
Dozens of volunteers of all levels of ability and disability gather to help families who are staying at the four Chicago area Ronald McDonald Houses while their children are receiving care at nearby hospitals. Baking and decorating heart cookies provides an inviting aroma & sponsoring an old-fashioned Valentine making station for the 3 weeks prior to Valentine’s Day helps calm and nurture guests often “reminding them of their childhood days” according to one house director.
Volunteers of all ages, some with disabilities others without, gather to prepare traditional homemade Valentine decorations.
